Our company performs repairs, maintenance, and installation for all major household appliances, across all brands.
It may seem strange, but appliances can actually be bumped or shake itself unplugged while in operation. We often find appliances unplugged from this when we go out on our repair calls, so we recommend you check to ensure the unit is properly plugged into the electrical socket.
Manufacturers generally charge more for their higher-quality appliances, while appliances lower in quality will be sold at a lower price.
The lower-end machines are constructed of lower quality materials, often from cheaper labor sources from other countries around the world. Higher-quality appliances on the other hand use higher quality parts, and therefore require a higher price to make up for the cost to the manufacturer. As a result, you can expect top-end dishwashers, for example, to cost approximately $900, washers to cost $1,100, dryers to cost $600, etc.
You may be wondering if you should just buy a new appliance instead of repairing an older appliance. However, you need to consider both the quality of the appliance you’ll be replacing your original appliance with, and whether or not you can afford to spend the full cost of a new machine.
Our skilled team of experts can diagnose and evaluate your appliance to determine if it’s in your best interest to repair or replace the machine, and make a recommendation to you accordingly.
Also, you must carefully consider the many extra costs associated with buying a new appliance. Not only do you have to pay for the price of purchasing the machine, you also have to spend your personal time carefully choosing which one you want to buy, have it delivered, have it installed and find a way to dispose of your old one. Not only do these extra steps require a significant amount of time, they can also cost you extra money that you might not have originally anticipated.
If you are considering having your existing machine repaired or replacing it with a machine that is comparable in price with what you paid for your machine several years ago, you need to consider changes in manufacturing and technology.
The cost of a reliable appliance 10 years ago wouldn’t buy you the same level of quality on today’s market. The reason for this is that while manufacturing costs have generally risen, appliance-makers have not wanted to raise prices on their products. Therefore, they’ve opted for cheaper, lesser-quality manufacturing while maintaining the same price point for their products. In other words, if you want the same quality of appliance as you bought several years ago, you would have to spend significantly more money. Going with an equal priced or cheaper appliance could put you at risk to experience a malfunction earlier than you otherwise would have. Paying to repair these malfunctions could cost you more in the long-run than servicing your existing machine.
The unit in the garage should not be damaged unless it is a self-defrosting refrigerator and the temperature of your garage drops below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. If this happens, the oil cold thicken and cause premature compression failure, so we recommend not placing the unit in an area that will drop below 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
In this case, it’s best to take the unit to your local landfill, but laws require that you first have the refrigerant evacuated for environmental safety reasons. Appliance Service Company can perform this service for you and would be happy to assist you in this process.
Yes, as long as the appliance doesn’t have a metal grid on the back side. If it has a metal grid, it’s important to leave one inch of space between the fridge and the wall.
Washer units contain temperature sensors that combine hot water and cold water to produce warm water. When the weather becomes cold, the cold water becomes even colder, making the overall temperature of the water lower. You can also check to ensure there isn’t anything blocking the hot water coming into your unit.
Many times this situation is caused by using more detergent than necessary for the size of the load being washed. Make sure you are correctly following the instructions from the detergent label to confirm you are using the proper amount of before you call us.
The glow that you are seeing is created by a “glow-bar” igniter that ignites the gas in your oven. As the oven heats up, the glow-bar appears to glow, but the gas valve will only open and ignite the gas if a high enough temperature as reached. Therefore, your oven will not heat up even though the glow-bar is glowing. You may need to replace your igniter if it isn’t heating up to the correct temperature. We are more than happy to assist you in replacing oven parts like this to get your machine up and running properly.
During self-cleaning, the grease and food that your oven is burned off, which can cause a bad smell. We recommend you create additional ventilation in the kitchen area when cleaning your oven, to alleviate the foul odors. Opening windows and/or doors during this process is a great place to start, along with employing fans if necessary.
A large load of clothes typically should take around 55 minutes to completely dry. If your clothes take more than one hour to dry, we recommend you have us check your dryer vent system, as this could improve your drying time.
While softener sheets don’t cause damage to dryers, they can contribute to clogged lint filters or clogging the moisture sensor’s coating. We recommend you clean the screen of your lint filter regularly and wipe off the sensor of the dryer if you decide to use softener sheets while drying clothes.
